Who is she?

I’m Colleen, otherwise known as The Rummy Writer. 

I studied English and Creative Writing at Ohio State University, but my love for books and writing started well before then. The earliest iteration of this blog was simply a place to share my creative writing and random thoughts, but today it’s a space for all things literary: book reviews, recommendations, mad ramblings, and maybe even some strange literary history. 

My already mountainous TBR pile keeps growing somehow (I have little impulse control when it comes to books) and you can find me over on bookstagram @therummywriter. As the blog title would suggest, I am a writer. Fiction and poetry are my so called “specialties” and I’m currently working on writing a book, which is exactly as intimidating as it sounds. 

I bartend at a bar that happens to also be a movie theater (which is exactly as cool as it sounds). I’ve found a new appreciation for long walks and reading outside recently. And I have an adorable dog named Mac or Mac Daddy; he likes to be called both.

This sounds an awful lot like a horrible dating profile blurb and I find that kind of funny, anyway thanks for reading.
