Whispering Into the Wind

I often wonder when
I will finally step into myself,
when this body will fit
like a glove over my spirit, no more
no less.

I can hear her, soft and gentle
calling out to me,
singing a lullaby from somewhere within
to soothe–let go, give in, just be.

There are days I don’t know
what it is, to be me,
to take a step without thinking
or get lost in a moment of splendor.

So I stand, facing the wide open world,
whispering into her ear all the lovely things I’d like to be.
